Police investigation in Valleyview

A police presence was visible near Robin Road in Valleyview, following an early morning assault report.

On Aug. 30, 2023, just before 5 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called by ambulance to the 1800-block of the East Trans Canada Highway Frontage Road, where a man had a head injury suspected to be caused by a weapon.

The injured man was transported to the hospital and is not cooperating with the investigation. He is expected to recover.

Officers, including members of the General Investigations Support Team and Forensic Identification Services Unit, were in the area as part of the ongoing investigation, which includes collecting evidence and canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and video, to help determine the cause of the injury and what transpired, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
