Police investigating North Shore hit and run

A man was taken to hospital earlier this morning following a report of a pedestrian-vehicle collision in which the driver fled the scene.

On Aug. 31, 2023, around 4:30 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to the 400-block of Tranquille Road in response to the report. The victim, a man in his 20s, was transported to hospital by ambulance with significant injuries, believed to be non-life threatening.

A grey truck was noted to be leaving the area following what was described as a commotion, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. It’s still very early in the investigation, but we are hopeful that someone in the area witnessed or captured security video of the incident, to help further the investigation.
