File # 2023-33922

For the second time since Saturday, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for information from the public related to a shooting, this time on the North Shore.

On Sept. 18, 2023, around 2:40 a.m., frontline officers were called to the 700-block of Tranquille Road where gunshots were confirmed to have struck an apartment. No one was injured.

Based on the preliminary investigation, this morning’s incident appears to have been targeted, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. At this time, it’s unknown if it’s related to Saturday’s shooting in Aberdeen.

Officers, including members of the General Investigations Support Team, were in the area, collecting evidence and canvassing the neighbourhood. Anyone who may have dash-camera footage or security cameras is asked to please check them and contact police if they captured anything that could be related.

It’s very fortunate that no one was injured in either of this week’s occurrences, but the threat to the public associated with firearms offences is one that’s very real and can come with tragic consequences, said Cpl. Evelyn. It’s extremely important for anyone who has information that could help further this investigation to reach out to police as soon as possible.

Those with information are asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-33922.
