Police investigating robbery of a woman

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses and information after receiving a report of a robbery and assault in McArthur Island Park earlier this week.

On Monday Sept. 25, 2023, police were contacted regarding the incident, which had allegedly occurred around 2:30 p.m., earlier that day. According to the report, a woman was walking through the park on the path near a secondary school on 12th Street, when she was approached from behind, assaulted, and robbed of her wallet and phone.

The victim received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. If anyone was in the area and saw something or has security footage that captured anything which could be related to this incident or the suspects, please contact police as soon as possible.

The suspects are described as:

• A male in his 40s
• Woman in her late 30s with long blond hair
• Wearing baggy pants and medical masks
• Riding small bicycles
