Man charged in arson investigation

A Kamloops man remains in custody for charges related to a vehicle fire on St. Paul Street Monday night.

On May 20, 2024, around 11:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle fire in a parking lot on the 100-block of St. Paul Street. Two vehicles and a building were damaged as a result of the blaze. No injuries were reported.

Kamloops frontline officers, with the support of the General Investigations Support Team, located and arrested a suspect the next morning, who was held in police custody for a bail hearing, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.

William Aaron Lamb, 23, of Kamloops, is facing charges related to intentionally or recklessly causing fire, and two counts of failure to comply with a court order. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 23, 2024.
