2024-06-10 1221 hours

A large police presence is visible on the 900-block of McGill Road, as officers respond to a report of a weapons threat with a weapon.

On June 10, 2024, around 11:30 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the area, where a person allegedly threatened another person with a weapon inside a recreation centre. The parties involved are known to each other and no injuries were reported.

The public is asked to please avoid the area while officers respond. Those who witnessed or have information related to the incident are asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment and reference file 2024-17834.
