The Kamloops RCMP are calling on the public to be on the lookout for stolen items, after two beauty industry businesses were broken into early this morning.
On March 5, around 2:40 a.m., Kamloops frontline officers responded to alarms sounding at a business on Summit Drive. Frontline officers and the Police Dog Services Unit attended, observed a break-in had occurred, and attempted to track a suspect, but no one was located. Around 4:40 a.m., police attended a commercial address on Hillside Drive for a report of a glass break. Officers arrived to find the front door had been smashed and products inside were scattered around. It was unknown at the time exactly what was stolen.
Because of the nature of the businesses broken into, we’re asking the public to vigilant about what type of beauty products and accessories they’re buying privately, said Constable Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
By buying items you suspect may be stolen you are inadvertently encouraging crime. Please take the time to ask questions of sellers and if something sounds too good to be true, remember it probably is.
The investigations are ongoing and it is unknown if they are related. If anyone has information regarding these crimes, please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-6799 for the Summit Avenue occurrence, and 2021-6802 for the Hillside incident.
