Suspect arrested in January 5 shooting incident

Prince George RCMP continue to investigate the shooting incident that occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on January 5, 2024 at the UNDU building on the 500-block of Ottawa Street.

Investigators with the Serious Crime Unit arrested the accused, 39-year-old Prince George resident Fabian James Charlie, shortly after arriving at the location. Police officers remained at the UNDU building for the bulk of that day as they gathered evidence and interviewed witnesses, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved one count of attempted murder in relation to this incident. Mr. Charlie will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
