Investigation into man’s sudden death underway

RCMP and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man discovered early Friday morning.

On April 24, 2020 shortly after 6:30 a.m., Kamloops Rural RCMP were called to the area of Barnhartvale Road just west of Highway 97 for a report of a deceased individual discovered inside a motor vehicle.

At this time, criminality is not suspected in the man's death as the investigation continues, states Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, spokesperson for the RCMP Southeast District. The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating his sudden death.

The deceased has been identified as a male in his 60’s. Due to the privacy of the deceased, under the Coroners Act, his name or identification will not be released. The RCMP and the BC Coroners Service have no further information for release.
