Kamloops RCMP investigate murder

On August 1, 2020 at 10:34 a.m. the Kamloops RCMP received a 911 call that led them to a residence on Clarke Street in Kamloops. Upon arrival police found a 39-year-old male who had been stabbed. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

At approximately 2:00 pm on August 1, 2020 the Kamloops RCMP arrested a 37-year-old male in relation to the incident that occurred earlier that morning.

The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over this case and are at the early stages of this investigation. There is currently very little information that can be provided to the public at this time, however based on our current understanding of this incident there is no danger to the public. The alleged suspect and victim are known to each other, stated S/Sgt. Simon Pillay, Kamloops RCMP Plain Clothes Commander.
