Man arrested following mini crime-spree

21-942/933/930

A smashed window and uninvited hot tub dip were just a couple of offences which landed one man in jail this weekend.

Just after 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 9, Kamloops RCMP frontline officers received a report of a man rummaging through a shed and throwing its contents around at an address on Hudson Bay Trail. A blanket was also stolen. Shortly after, a window was smashed at a construction site on Victoria Street and a blanket was left behind from a man chased off by security. About an hour later in the same area, a homeowner woke up to find an intoxicated man in their hot tub.

Police attended, arrested a man and lodged him in cells to prevent continuation of the offence. He was later released when sober on an Undertaking.

Police investigating attempted car-jacking

21-1121

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for suspects following a report of an attempted car-jacking early Monday morning.

Around 2:25 a.m., January 11, a woman sleeping in her vehicle on Kokanee Way was woken up by a man who told her he was taking her car. A struggle occurred in which she was assaulted before breaking free and driving away. She was able to provide a description of one of the two men, who left in an older K-Car which was black, tan or gold in colour, and had a flat back window.

One suspect was described as in his 20s, six-feet tall, possibly Aboriginal, skinny with pock-marked skin, and no facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball hat with a flat black brim, white front, two or three diagonal stripes, and a red emblem. No description was available of the other man.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call police and reference file number 21-1121.
