Drugs and weapons seized from vehicle

A stun gun, fighting axe, knives, and small containers of drugs were seized from a cargo van on Columbia Street Tuesday night.

Around 7 p.m. on May 10, 2022, a frontline officer was parked near 4th Avenue when he observed a cargo vehicle being driven by a woman suspected to be a prohibited driver.

The officer conducted a vehicle stop and arrested the woman for driving while suspended, then impounded the vehicle for seven days, said Constable Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The drugs and weapons located inside the van were seized for destruction.
