File # 2022-25255

What came in as a disturbance call led to police locating missing wallets and identification, arresting a man, and holding him for court.

On Friday July 22, 2022, around 7:15 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to Howe and Balmoral roads, where a man was arguing with a person who was allegedly in possession of his stolen property.

Officers arrived and arrested a suspect.

As part of the investigation, police located other items, leading to a series of charge recommendations and approvals, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

Nicholas Marcel Benallick, 39, of Kamloops, is charged with 10 offences, including attempt to break and enter into a residence; loiter at night; forgery; possession of stolen property; possession of identification documents belonging to other people; and failure to comply with an undertaking.

He was held for a bail hearing on July 26, 2022, during which he received a release order until his next scheduled court date, Aug. 4, 2022.
