File # 2022-27242

A Kamloops man is charged with several offences, following a robbery and multi-vehicle crash on the North Shore Friday afternoon.

On Aug. 5, 2022 at approximately 2:47 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to Fortune Drive for an armed robbery report in which a man had allegedly threatened a cab driver with a weapon and stole their taxi.

Police quickly located the sole suspect and occupant of the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop him, but the suspect fled at a high rate of speed and collided with two other vehicles, then ran from the area on foot. He was arrested shortly after with the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, scheduled for Aug. 11, said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

Bradley James Venn, 19, of Kamloops is charged with one count each of robbery, fail to stop for police, dangerous driving, and fail to remain at the scene of a collision.

Anyone with information, video, or dash cam footage related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250 828-3000 and reference file 2022-27242.
