File # 1990-25634

More than 30 years after Raymond Haines was located in the Thompson River, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment is hoping to connect with one of his relatives.

Raymond was 34 years old when his family reported him missing in September 1990. His family’s last contact with him was a couple of weeks prior, when they discussed a relative’s upcoming visit.

Sadly, the majority of Raymond’s remains were located several months later on the south shore of the Thompson River; a definitive cause of death was never determined, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

Over the years, contact has been lost with Raymond’s remaining relatives, added Cpl. Evelyn. Police are looking to re-establish a connection in order to maintain communication on any updates or progress related to the investigation.

If anyone recognizes Raymond as their relative, or has information related to his death and the ongoing investigation, please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 1990-25634.
