Weapons, drugs seized in Westsyde

A Westsyde Road traffic stop led to police locating a bag of suspected methamphetamine, brass knuckles, and a large knife.

On Wednesday Nov. 9, 2022, around 2:15 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was patrolling the neighbourhood when he stopped a white Mustang to confirm the driver was licenced. As part of the investigation, the officer observed the weapons and an axe handle near the driver’s seat.

The woman was arrested for offences including possession of a prohibited weapon, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. A further search located the drugs.

The items were seized for destruction and the woman was released at scene. Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-40321.
