Suspicious occurrence: do you know this man?

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest related to a suspicious occurrence reported Thursday afternoon.

On Feb. 1, 2024, around 1 p.m., Kamloops police received a report of a man who appeared to be filming in the children’s section of the library on the North Shore. The man left quickly when he was confronted by staff.

We’re trying to locate the man to discuss the report received, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. We are releasing an image of a person of interest in hopes that he will come forward, or that someone can identify him to help further the investigation.

The man is described as:

• 50-60 years old
• Dark and grey hair, balding on top
• Heavy set
• Speaks in broken English

He was wearing:

• Dark jacket
• Blue pants
• White running shoes
