Weapons report on bus: man arrested

A suspect was quickly taken into custody following a report of a physical confrontation involving a weapon downtown.

On Jan. 31, 2024, around 3:52 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to the 100-block of Victoria Street West, where a group of people were allegedly engaged in a physical altercation on a public transit bus and one of them had a weapon.

Thanks to the fast response of frontline officers, a suspect was quickly located, taken into custody, and no serious injuries were reported, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
