UPDATE – Whalley fire investigation

Surrey RCMP is updating the public on the on-going investigation into a residential fire which occurred in Whalley.

On April 16, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m. Surrey RCMP was called to assist Surrey Fire Services at a residential fire located in the 13500 block of 113 Avenue. The home was fully engulfed and residents in neighboring homes were also evacuated. A man in his 60’s was located with life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Sadly, he later died of his injuries.

The cause of fire is still under investigation. Surrey RCMP will continue to work together with Surrey Fire Services and will be in the area conducting neighborhood inquiries.
