Williams Lake RCMP investigate sudden infant death

On Friday December 8, 2023, members of the Williams Lake RCMP responded to a local area hospital after a 32-year-old man attended the hospital with a deceased infant. A second child with non life-threatening injuries was located and transported to hospital for medical assessment. The 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested and have subsequently been released.
This appears to be an isolated incident with no risk to the public. The Ministry of Children and Family Development have been engaged and the investigation remains ongoing.
