Castlegar man back in custody on new charges

A 41-year-old Castlegar resident, Erik Larsen, is back in custody after being released on September 8th, 2020.

On September 15, 2020 shortly after 12 p.m. Castlegar RCMP responded to a report of verbal threats allegedly made at a residence on 5 Avenue. Front line RCMP officers attended the scene where they located, identified and arrested a suspect.

On September 16, 2020 criminal charges of uttering threats to cause bodily harm were approved by the BC Prosecution Service against 41-year-old Erik Larsen, who was brought before the provincial courts and further detained in custody. His next appearance will be September 23, 2020 in Castlegar Provincial Courts.

Erik Larsen had been in custody since August 17, 2020 in relation to previous unrelated matters before the courts, which are still ongoing.
