Police seek information in 2020 collision

On Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 8:56pm, Chetwynd RCMP responded to a report of a Semi-tractor trailer that got run off the road on Hwy 97 S near Hasler Flats. The impact caused an explosion and the driver was severely injured. The cost of the damage was estimated to be $270,000.

The driver stated that he drove off the road in order to avoid a collision with on coming Semi that was carrying a wide load. A witness also saw the wide loaded trailer that was in the on-coming lane but was able to swerve without any further issues.

Chetwynd RCMP is requesting public assistance in possibly identifying the truck driver of the Semi
transporting the wide load or if anyone was travelling along the highway at this time that can provide additional information.
