Break and Enter to Catalyst Paper mill

On December 16, Powell River RCMP responded to a report that two trucks had breached a gate leading into the Catalyst Paper mill, and were now driving around the property.

Police responded and observed one of the trucks leaving the mill property. The truck was stopped and the occupants were arrested for Break and Enter and Mischief.

The second truck was located abandoned on the mill property. Both truck beds were filled with various electrical components and tools that had been taken from the mill. Both trucks were seized by police.

After further investigation, police learned that there was a third vehicle involved in the Break and Enter and Theft. The third vehicle was located at the Saltery Bay BC Ferry terminal and the occupants were arrested for Break and Enter and Mischief. The third vehicle was also seized by police.

The investigation is ongoing.

Multiple thefts from vehicles

For the second week in a row, there have been multiple reports of thefts from vehicles that were parked in various areas around Westview.
