A 9-1-1 Police Dispatcher is a shift worker, which means:

  • Your rotating schedule will allow you to have up to four days off in a row.
  • Shift work is not a normal weekday schedule, which allows you to go shopping or schedule medical appointments on your days off.
  • Shift work will also allow you to spend more time with your family during the week.
  • Working nights has a different atmosphere. The types of calls are generally of a different nature than during the day.
